You need a bachelor's degree comparable to a Norwegian bachelor's degree. The University of Stavanger lists: All India Senior School Certificate (Standard 12, CBSE), Indian School Certificate (Standard 12, CISCE) or a state board certificate, plus 4 years of university education. Whether a 3-year bachelor's degree is enough differs between universities, so check the university you apply to.
Minimum grade: 3.0 out of 4.0, or 65% or higher (University of Stavanger). Each course also sets its own requirements in your field of study.
An English test is generally required.
None of the universities we checked (UiO, NTNU, UiB, UiS) lists an exemption for India, even if your degree was taught in English. Plan to take IELTS Academic, TOEFL iBT or PTE Academic.
Courses can set their own English requirements, so check each course too.
UiS: the official transcript must be sent directly by the degree-awarding institution. Documents issued by affiliated colleges are not accepted. Also upload a scanned copy in Søknadsweb by 1 December. Transcripts received after 1 February are not considered.
Rules differ between universities and can change each year. Always check the admission page of the university you are applying to.
